The experience of art for Carrie
(Keri) Oldani had its foundation more in desire, than in formal training. And
because it was the desire of her heart to be an accomplished artist, she was given the tools to create that reality.
Her most valuable tool is the passion
with which she views the world. Equally valuable, is her ability to represent
that view to others through her art. For nearly 20 years, Carrie has expressed
her passion through a variety of media, always ready to move on to new challenges whenever and however they present themselves. She has done so primarily through watercolor, pencil, and encaustic art, which is
a centuries-old art form with its origins in Ancient Egypt.
Encaustic art is widely known in
the Southwest, but had received little exposure here in the Midwest until Carrie returned from a visit with her son in El Paso,
where she was introduced to it. She subsequently brought the technique back to
Ohio, and has since taught it to many others.
Carrie is an award-winning artist, and
continues to submit her work in several juried exhibits in the vicinity of her Northeastern Ohio home.
